Ulama's Resistance to the Closing of Worship Places During The COVID-19 Pandemic in Indonesia

PPKM Darurat (the implementation of community activity restrictions) is one the policies implemented by Indonesian government to control spread COVID-19. received opposition from ulama (Islamic religious leaders) because all places worship had be closed. Our qualitative study explores forms, factors, and impacts ulama’s resistance closing during COVID-19 pandemic. This research data were collected through interviews with participating ulama. indicates that closure period manifested in discourse action.
